FIIs & DIIs start booking profit when Nifty touched an all-time high of 16700.

Good Evening Everyone,

What a gripping day it was today! The Nifty opened with a big gap up and went all the way high to touch a record high of 16700 and a big nose dive fall to finally close at 16568

It was interesting to note that both FIIs & DIIs turned to selling today. The FIIs sold for a net of Rs. 595 crores and DIIs sold for a net of Rs. 729 crores.

On the Daily chart, we can see a big bearish candle that indicates that we might see a trends reversal/consolidation for some time now.

Sector Watch:

As the Nifty fell, every sector lost steam, but still, FMCG, Pharma, IT & PSU banks closed in green by a small margin while the worst losing sector for the day was the private bank sector.

Top Gainers:

The top gainer for the day was Eicher motors and Ultra cement after their fall in the week.

Top Losers:

Among the top losers were the Kotak Bank, Hindalco & ICICI bank which led the fall due to profit booking.
