US markets continue to rise, but consolidation in Indian market.
Good Morning, Everyone, We could see Nifty consolidating yesterday and Asian markets were down after China had a crackdown on the IT companies and we could see some buying in the Indian IT sector, looks like FIIs sold in the Chinese market and that investment was seen coming into the Indian IT sector.
Global Markets:
US markets continued hitting record highs with support from great quarterly results from corporate companies. Tesla came out with excellent results and we could see the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 82.76 points, or 0.24%, to 35,144.31, the S&P 500 gained 10.51 points, or 0.24%, to 4,422.3 and the Nasdaq Composite added 3.72 points, or 0.03%, to 14,840.71.
Shares in Asia-Pacific edged higher in today's morning trade as several major Chinese tech stocks in Hong Kong remained under pressure following a Monday tumble.
Nikkei 225 in Japan gained 0.63% while the Topix index advanced 0.61%. South Korea’s Kospi traded 0.76% higher.
Indian Market:
Trends in the SGX Nifty signal a positive start to the Nifty with a gap up of about 50 points, but we need to see if Nifty can sustain the same this week as we have the monthly expiry this Thursday and we can see super volatility in the market till then.
The government's total tax collection in the April-June quarter grew about 86 percent to more than Rs 5.57 lakh crore, Parliament was informed on Monday. Out of the total amount, the collection of net direct tax stood at Rs 2.46 lakh crore, and of indirect tax was at Rs 3.11 lakh crore.
"The net direct tax collection in the 1st quarter of FY 2021-2022 is Rs 2,46,519.82 crore as against Rs 1,17,783.87 crore during the same period of previous FY 2020-21 representing a growth of 109.3 percent,"

Axis Bank | The bank’s Q1FY22 net profit rose 89.4 percent to Rs 2,160.1 crore from Rs 1,112.2 crore, while net interest income increased by 11.1 percent to Rs 7,760.3 crore from Rs 6,985.3 crore, YoY.
Larsen & Toubro | The company’s Q1FY22 net profit jumped to Rs 1,174.4 crore from Rs 303 crore and revenue rose by 38 percent to Rs 29,334.7 crore from Rs 21,260 crore, YoY. The consolidated order book was at Rs 3.24 lakh crore as of June 30, 2021. Consolidated order wins at Rs 26,560 crore were up 13 percent, YoY.
Tata Motors | The company’s Q1FY22 consolidated net loss narrowed to Rs 4,450.92 crore from Rs 8,437.99 crore, while revenue more than doubled to Rs 66,406.45 crore from Rs 31,983.06 crore, YoY.
Vedanta | The company announced the expansion of smelter at its BALCO plant at a cost of Rs 6,611 crore and will set up a new carbon facility at the cost of Rs 635 crore in Jharsuguda. The company reported a sharply higher profit at Rs 4,224 crore in Q1FY22 against Rs 1,033 crore in Q1FY21, revenue jumped to Rs 28,412 crore from Rs 15,973 crore YoY.

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals | The company reported a higher consolidated profit at Rs 121.08 crore in Q1FY22 against Rs 110.83 crore in Q1FY21, revenue rose to Rs 789.99 crore from Rs 648.59 crore YoY.
